This is such a lovely vintage wardrobe with oodles of character, I love it!
The wardrobe is in Queen Anne style, with pretty feet and lovely detailing along the bottom. The curved top of wardrobe also adds character to the piece.
Both doors have pretty, ornate metal handles. The inside of the wardrobe has an extendable front facing hanging rail on the left side while the right side has a variety of shelving and two pull out drawers which are particulary handy for socks and underwear!
This vintage wardrobe has been hand painted in Annie Sloan's 'Paris Grey' before being subtly waxed and distressed.

What a whopper this fabulous antique French Armoire is, and super stunning too!
The detailing on this piece is just sublime, and characteristically French, most notably the gorgeous crest on the top of the piece. The detail of the carving has been beautifully emphasised with waxing, adding a time worn appearance. The base of the Armoire also has some wonderful carving detail on the legs.
There are two large (and very heavy!) mirrored doors, each with character of their own, with small patches of foxing that only comes with aged glass. There isn't a lock but the original key is used to pull open and close the doors.
Traditionally Armoire's are generally shelved inside but I can provide a hanging rail if you would prefer there to be hanging but three internal shelves come with it. At the base of the internal space is a lockable drawer.
This wonderful piece has been hand painted in Autentico's 'Soft Grey' before being waxed and aged using various coloured waxes and then distressed adding oodles of character.
This is a very old piece so there are the odd signs of wear and tear which is to be expected for a piece of this age, but in my opinion this doesn't detract from the Armoire's beauty. There is a piece of the wooden trim on the right side of the Armoire that has been lost at some point within its history, please see photo.
This piece will need to be dismantled completely for delivery and ease of access. Full instructions for re building the Armoire will be sent.

Wow! This is a super stunning, beautifully made, quality antique French Armoire packed with oodles of inherent character synonymous with a piece of its age.
The Armoire is a large piece with a single, heavy mirrored door opening out into a typical shelved area. Armoires are not wardrobes as such, they are nearly always shelved but I can add in a hanging rail if you would it be more of a wardrobe. The shelves can be slotted in at different heights or can be used in conjunction with a hanging rail at the top and perhaps just one shelf lower down.
The only thing to bear in mind is that Armoire's are generally narrower than conventional wardrobes so clothes with hang on a slight angle but as you can see from the photograph it doesn't really make that much difference.
Inside the Armoire are three shelves and an internal drawer at the bottom complete with key. There is also an external drawer at the bottom of the piece.
The mirror has lovely old glass, with areas of foxing which is often found within aged glass, so there are areas of small age spots and slightly larger areas of shading within the mirror, this is shown in the bottom picture.
Hand painted in Annie Sloan's 'Paris Grey' before being aged using waxing techniques and subtle distressing this is a super piece.
The top crest part of the piece can be removed for removal.

This stunning antique armoire came all the way from Normandy and is a super stunning piece!
The armoire has some fabulous detail, most notably on the top, or crest of the piece which simply sits on the top of the main body, making it easier for moving.
The crest has been emphasised using coloured waxes which emphasise the intricate detailing. The legs of the piece also have some lovely carved detail on them.
The door is very heavy, with lovely old bevelled glass which opens out into a space with three deep shelves and a drawer at the bottom. There is also a drawer at the bottom of the exterior of the armoire.
The armoire has been hand painted in Annie Sloan's 'Paris Grey' before being subtly aged and distressed using specialist waxing techniques.
Armoires are usually shelved so, not really designed for hanging garments but there could be a hanging rail put in (as depicted in the bottom photo) so long as you are aware that the clothes will hang slightly on an angle due to depth.
